Mercy-Middletown High School Indoor Track & Field star Bridgid Selfors is this week’s UChoose Student-Athlete of the Week. She obtained nearly 1,000 votes (50% of this week’s total votes cast).

Selfors, a senior, won three events last Wednesday (1000M, 1600M, and 3200M) to propel Mercy to an SCC West Indoor Track Championship (GameTimeCT.com).

Host Frankie Graziano interviewed Bridgid Selfors of the Mercy-Middletown High School Indoor Track & Field team. In the above video player, Bridgid discusses some quirky team-bonding activities that her and her teammates engage in at track meets. Gather her opinions on that scintillating performance from last week’s SCC Sectional event in New Haven.

Voting was introduced in the CPTV UChoose Student-Athlete of the Week poll in October of 2014. Since that time, over 70 winners have been crowned from 50 different towns. 250,000-plus votes have been cast in that time in support of our student-athletes recognized for their fine play on a weekly basis. Fans may participate in a given poll each Saturday at 6 p.m. until Monday night at 6 p.m.
