This week’s CPTV UChoose Student-Athlete of the Week is Courie Stevenson, a senior from Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury. The boys basketball star captured 44% of the 3,708 votes cast.

The Hearts (16-0) have won 72 straight against Connecticut opponents dating back to the 2014 NVL Final. Victory No. 70 in-a-row was a come-from-behind 65-63 win over Holy Cross, Monday. They trailed by 17 in the final minutes, but stormed back thanks to senior Courie Stevenson’s 17 fourth quarter points including the game-winning basket.

Host Frankie Graziano interviewed Courie Stevenson in Waterbury, which you will soon be able to watch in the above video player. Stevenson is a very entertaining young man. Find out what he would propose for Sacred Heart’s school uniform. You will also see what kind of support the “SHHS Superfans” are capable of inside the ultra-charming Alumni Hall Gymnasium.

Voting was introduced in the CPTV UChoose Student-Athlete of the Week poll in October of 2014. Since that time, over 80 winners have been crowned from 50 different towns. 300,000-plus votes have been cast in that time in support of our student-athletes recognized for their fine play on a weekly basis. Fans may participate in a given poll each Saturday at 6 p.m. until Monday night at 6 p.m.
