Evan Federowicz, New Milford High School Boys Lacrosse, is the statewide CPTV UChoose Student-Athlete of the week after receiving almost over one-third of the 3,000 votes cast in the poll.

The senior attack man helped extend his high school career—and his team’s season—by putting up a monster effort in an 11-10 upset of No. 2 South Windsor for No. 15 New Milford Wednesday. Federowicz scored six goals in the game and set-up the game-winner.

Late last week, New Milford’s season finished with a 15-1 loss against No. 7 Cheshire. CPTV’s Frankie Graziano recently interviewed Evan inside New Milford High. And he talked about how finding out about his nomination immediately following the game helped him cope with the loss.

Voting was introduced in the CPTV UChoose Student-Athlete of the Week poll in October of 2014. Since that time, over 80 winners have been crowned from 50 different towns. 300,000-plus votes have been cast in that time in support of our student-athletes recognized for their fine play on a weekly basis. Fans may participate in a given poll each Saturday at 6 p.m. until Monday night at 6 p.m.
