Every first Friday, come to Hartford Flavor Company and read a poem that you love – out loud and everything – to a room full of smiling people who are so glad you’re there!
-Do i HAVE to read a poem?
No, but you’ll feel better if you do!
-May I read more than one?
Just read one poem per event, please. Hold onto the other ones for future OPPs!
-Will there be a time limit up there at the mic?
Three minutes is a nice maximum.
-Do i have to have it memorized?
ABSOLUTELY NOT, come on now.
-Do i win any sort of prize if i recite it from memory?
YES! a LOOFAH!
-Why a loofah?
It’s a cheap prize, it’s a ridiculous word, and you’ll remember your glory every time you use it, that’s why.
-What’s the timeframe we’re lookin’ at here for the evening?
There are 25 slots open. Sign-up starts at 6:30, and reading starts promptly at 7:30! We are usually done after 9pm. Then, everybody floats outta there feeling better!
