Ryan Wills (G) – Haddam-Killingworth Boys Basketball

The senior 5’10” guard had a monster double-double in HK’s 92-68 romp of Morgan-Clinton. Wills put up 31 points and 14 rebounds, Tuesday. He also stole the ball six times. The Cougars are 11-7 with two games remaining before the CIAC Class S playoffs.

Andrew Jaworski (G) – Tolland Boys Basketball

Congratulations to the 6’2” senior guard as one of his 28 points scored during a 66-32 manhandling of Rockville, Monday allowed him to join the 1000-point club. 13-6 Tolland is currently 10th in CIAC the Class M standings.

Mikey Buscetto (G) – Waterford Boys Basketball

16-3 Waterford won three games in four days this week and its enigmatic 5’9” junior guard was a big reason why. The Lancers cut down East Lyme 86-80, Monday night, as Buscetto collected 29 points and 14 assists. Mikey scored 28 the next night in Waterford’s 8-point win over Woodstock Academy. He had another double-double in another tough one against Windham in the team’s third game in four days, Thursday: 14 points, 13 assists.

Gyanna Russell (G) – East Hampton Girls Basketball

East Hampton finished the regular season 18-2 and Gyanna Russell was a deciding factor. Monday was a strong indicator. East Hampton trailed Westbrook by eight heading into the fourth quarter. The Bellringers outscored the Knights, 17-5 in the final quarter. Russell had 10 of those 17. She scored a game-high 46 points!

Jeff Pracella (F) – Ridgefield Boys Ice Hockey

The senior forward carried Ridgefield to its 16th straight win, Monday night with an overtime goal 18 seconds into the extra session. The goal saved the Tigers after Notre Dame-West Haven overcame a 4-1 third period deficit. His first goal looked like the game-winner as he scored with 0:57 seconds left, but ND-West Haven equalized to force OT.  (Madera, GameTimeCT). Pracella assisted on Ridgefield’s only goal Thursday night when Fairfield Prep beat the Tigers 4-1 to end the streak.

Cassidy Palmer (Sprinter) – Bloomfield Girls Indoor Track & Field

The senior won three gold medals, Tuesday to push Bloomfield to its eighth straight CIAC Class S Indoor Track & Field title. She broke a 20-year old 55M Dash CIAC Class S record by finishing in 07.03. Her team’s 1:44.25 sprint in the 4×200 relay that she ran in was also a meet record. Finally, Palmer won the 300M Dash in 41.42.
