Vice President Kamala Harris has asked Gov. Ned Lamont how the state could help accommodate migrant children who are entering the country at the Rio Grande Border. Lamont said Thursday his administration is looking into ways to transform the former juvenile training facility in Middletown into a healthy, safe environment for these now homeless children. “I think we are going to make a recommendation or two over the next few days,” he said. “They probably want to come up and take a look, as they are doing in many other states. They have some preset needs that they are looking for as well.” Lamont made the comments while touring the Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center in East Windsor, which he said was an example of how they could transform another building into a residential treatment facility.
