Hartford’s Community Renewal Team is hosting a Christmas ‘MARA-thon’ — an online support group for those dealing with opioid addiction during the holidays. Medication-Assisted Recovery Anonymous, or MARA, is a 12-step program similar to Alcoholic Anonymous that welcomes anyone using any prescribed medications. MARA programs only exist in the United States as of now and the CRT says it helped establish the first group in Connecticut last year. The special Christmas meeting will start on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. and last through Dec. 25 at 9.pm. Those interested can find the link at: mara-international.org
