Connecticut students might be saying goodbye to snow days as the state’s Department of Education considers online learning in the event of inclement weather. The Hartford Courant reports that the legal director of the state education department told board members yesterday that the expansion of online education during the coronavirus pandemic has led to several questions — including whether students could simply learn from home in the event of snow instead of missing class. State education officials have already approved counting online learning days toward Connecticut’s minimum requirement of 177 days of classes a year for public schools.
