The positivity rate for asymptomatic inmates in Connecticut’s prison system has dropped below one percent as the State Department of Correction completed its third round of mass testing in its facilities. This is a significant drop, according to the agency, which had a 9 percent positivity rate after the first round of testing and 3 percent after the second. Those inmates who tested positive are currently isolated and being monitored by health services staff. The agency also concluded its fourth round of testing for staff. A total number of 5,110 staff members were tested and 65 results came back positive.
