There was positive employment news in Connecticut in April — but only just. Employers added a net 500 jobs in the month according to preliminary surveys. That’s down from 5,400 additions in March. The unemployment rate, which is calculated on a separate household survey, ticked downward from 8.3 percent to 8.1 percent. Connecticut remains above the national average unemployment rate of 6.1 percent.
