Nurses at Backus hospital in Norwich have started a two-day strike today after the hospital and the nurses’ union failed to reach a contract agreement. They’ve been in negotiations with Hartford HealthCare, the hospital’s parent company, since June over several issues, including increased pay and personal protective gear policies amid the pandemic.
