After cutting a total of 450 jobs in Connecticut this month, Pratt & Whitney will build a new manufacturing plant in Asheville, North Carolina despite requests from the state to consider expanding here. Hearst Connecticut reports Raytheon Technology, Pratt’s Massachusetts based parent, said the North Carolina based facility will represent $175 millions in savings. The new project will not affect jobs in Connecticut according to the Department of Economic and Community Development.
