Connecticut state police say the gunshots fired at the state Capitol over the holiday weekend are linked to a series of similar incidents in Southington. No charges have been filed in the gunfire at the Capitol, but state officials say a 74-year-old man is already in custody in connection with the Southington shootings. Officials say the incidents involve mental health issues and do not believe there’s any current danger to the public. Capitol police say they’re also investigating a separate security breach involving a car driving onto the building’s lawn Tuesday night.
