In an effort to keep schools open, some Danbury area schools are adopting shortened COVID quarantines after consulting with local health departments. Hearst Connecticut reports Bethel, Brookfield and Newtown plan to make the switch from 14-day quarantines to 10 days for those not experiencing symptoms. Districts hope this will minimize staff shortages — an issue seen statewide during the pandemic. Meanwhile, Easton and Redding opted to keep the 14-day quarantine.
