The school says the proportion of racial groups admitted has fluctuated over the years, disproving the Justice Department’s claim that the university is improperly racially balancing its admissions from year to year. The Trump administration’s Justice Department accuses the New Haven-based school of discriminating against white and Asian students by admitting too many Black students. The suit argues that the university is illegally selecting Black people instead of white or Asian people with comparable academic credentials.
