Bobby C. Martin is an artist and a member of the Mvskoke or Muscogee (Creek) Nation. He was raised in Oklahoma, where he still resides, and has been deeply immersed in Native Baptist churches from his youth. He has been supported by strong women throughout his life, grannies and aunties, and his drawings reflect them as “spiritual icons” — not icons of worship, but of gratitude and remembrance for caring for his spiritual well-being in his formative years.
