THE DETECTIVE UP LATE with Adrian McKinty and Colin McEnroe (In-Person)

September 9, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Irish thriller writer Adrian McKinty comes to The Mark Twain House & Museum to discuss his latest Sean Duffy novel, The Detective Up Late, with WNPR’s Colin McEnroe.

Born in Belfast in Northern Ireland during “The Troubles,” Adrian McKinty traveled to the United States as an illegal alien, finding work in bars, on building sites, and as a Teamster driver. He married an American and became a U.S. citizen, eventually becoming a teacher in Colorado. After he moved to Australia with his wife, the Oxford-educated philosophy major turned his hand to writing novels. Although his books were acclaimed and award-winning, he found himself evicted, bartending, and driving for Uber…until his novel The Chain impacted the bestseller lists and changed his life completely.
McKinty chats with writer, broadcaster and humorist Colin McEnroe on his improbable journey and his latest sure-to-be-blockbuster, The Detective Up Late, the latest novel in his blockbuster Sean Duffy series set in Belfast.
