The Rape Crisis Center of Milford’s 17th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

In honor of April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month, The Rape Crisis Center of Milford’s 17th Annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event will be taking place on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Lisman Landing Marina in Downtown Milford, CT. Registration begins at 12pm and the Walk will begin at 1pm.
Join us as we walk to raise awareness about sexual and gender-based violence in our community and to show survivors that they never have to walk alone. Each dollar raised from this event helps us keep all of our services completely free of charge for victims of sexual violence and their families. Last year, the Rape Crisis Center of Milford served over 700 victims of sexual violence in our community.
Incentives will be given based on the amount raised by each individual:
-$50 raised – T-shirt
-$100 raised – T-shirt & RCCM swag
-$150 raised – T-shirt & $25 Target gift card
-$250 raised – T-shirt & special limited edition gift!
Prizes will be awarded for the following:
-Individual who raises the most funds
-Community team that raises the most funds
-College organization that raises the most funds
-High School organization that raises the most funds
-Most creative look
-Highest heel
At the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes, all are welcome to attend! Although our work can handle some tough subjects, this is a day of community building and laughter, so please feel welcome to bring the whole family, your furry pals included! Delicious pizza will be provided by Reno & Sons Pizza Co.!
