Join the Women Composers Festival of Hartford for its annual festival March 1st-2nd, 2024, in Founders Hall at Central Connecticut State University! The Hartford-based annual multi-day Festival draws a national and international audience and is focused on promoting the works and achievements of all who identify as women, including transgender and gender-fluid individuals, women of color, indigenous groups, LGBTQ+, and the differently abled. This year the festival features Composer-in-Residence, Kirsten Volness, by commissioning of a new work to be premiered by the Ensemble-in-Residence, Balance Campaign. Additionally, the festival features winning compositions selected from the International Score Call, a Music Marathon showcasing composers and performers, and a symposium highlighting different composition topics.
