Harvesting Connecticut

Explore 21st-century farming in Connecticut with the new series Harvesting Connecticut.

Produced and hosted by Alex Caserta, Harvesting Connecticut explores how farms and farmers have responded to changing technology and markets. Growers and livestock farmers have had to balance the traditional approaches that were handed down to them with the realities of today’s business climate. As a result, they are innovating to stay successful.

Harvesting Connecticut brings viewers on-location so they can meet the farmers and hear their stories of innovation firsthand. Viewers also learn about the fascinating history of the land on which these farms reside, exploring both the past and the possible future of farming.

In addition, helpful and timely information is shared about the locations and varieties of crops that are Connecticut-grown, and where to purchase them; the modern farm-to-table and local food movements; the importance of land stewardship; and more.
