Bunnell closed Friday night’s game on a 14-1 run to put away New Milford, 67-49 in Southwest Conference play. Connecticut Public Television traveled to Stratford for an upcoming “Lights On CT” cinematic profile of the game.

Freshman Max Edwards scored 23 points for the Bulldogs in their third game in as many days. Edwards got the team started with 14 first half rebounds.

New Milford (2-7) trailed by 11 at the half as star player Matt Muckerman picked up two early fouls and was subbed off for a majority of the opening half. Chris Geswaldi helped New Milford get back in the game in an outburst that saw him score eight consecutive Green Wave points in the third quarter. The Green Wave cut the deficit to five in three separate second half instances, but the late run by the Bulldogs sealed their sixth win of 2016-17 (6-3).

Zhyaire Fernandes, Bunnell’s leading scorer, keyed the late run for the Bulldogs with 11 fourth quarter points. He had 18 in the game.
