Masterpiece recently announced that filming has begun on Season 2 of Victoria, the hit drama  from Mammoth Screen/Masterpiece on PBS.

Now, it has also been announced that BAFTA-winning iconic actress Dame Diana Rigg (Game Of Thrones) has been confirmed as a new regular cast member.

Rigg will play the Duchess of Bucchleuch, the young Queen’s new Mistress of the Robes, who is renowned for speaking her mind.

Masterpiece executive producer Rebecca Eaton said, “To have Diana Rigg back in the Masterpiece family is a particular joy for us. We’ve loved Diana AND her work for a long time.”

The second season of Victoria – once again written by creator and executive producer Daisy Goodwin – sees Queen Victoria face the new challenge of motherhood. Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) reprises her role of Queen Victoria alongside Tom Hughes (The Game) as Prince Albert.
