U.S. House Democrats today selected New Haven-area Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro as the leader of the powerful House Appropriations Committee. In her new role, DeLauro will have a bigger say in government spending. The selection will also give Connecticut additional clout on the panel. DeLauro, who represents Connecticut’s third district, previously led the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Subcommittee.
