The University of Connecticut has approved the extension of three vendor contracts in an effort to improve COVID testing for the spring semester. Hearst Connecticut reports UConn has spent close to $3.5 million on testing so far and with these new extensions, the university will allocate up to $10 million for the spring. In hopes of keeping up with testing demands, the university will be able to administer up to 65,000 tests next semester — more than twice the tests it’s already conducted.
